Privacy Policy

Your data stays yours: on your Mac and in your iCloud. Here is exactly what that means.

Summary

Break in Motion does not collect personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and we never sell or share your information.

Your activity (standing sessions, history, settings and achievements) is stored on your Mac and in your own private iCloud account. We cannot access it.

Data stored by the app

  • Activity data: standing and sitting sessions, daily history, streaks and level.
  • Settings: your daily goal and app preferences.
  • Achievements: which achievements you have unlocked.

This data is saved on your Mac and synced through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) private database so it is available on your other Macs signed in to the same Apple Account. It is governed by Apple's privacy policy and protected by your Apple Account. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app's data in System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks the App Store whether you have an active purchase in order to unlock Premium features.

Notifications

With your permission, the app shows local notifications (break reminders, level-ups, achievements). They are generated on your Mac; nothing is sent to a server.

Importing data from the previous version

If you used an earlier, account-based version of Break in Motion, the app offers a one-time import. When you choose to use it, your old email and password are sent once over an encrypted connection to our legacy server to retrieve your history, settings and achievements, which are then saved to your iCloud. Your password is not stored. The legacy account database will be permanently deleted after the transition period; you can ask us to delete your legacy account sooner by emailing us.

Website

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. If you email support, we use your email address only to reply to you. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored by our email provider, Brevo, and used only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Children

Break in Motion does not knowingly collect any information from children or anyone else.
